On my desk....

Today was good.
I've been sick which isn't so good.
So I took the day off, to just rest.
My doctor friend told me it's the best medicine.
So I dragged the spare mattress out into the sun with some reading, some embroidery and some painting/hooping/cutting/flowering/sticking.

My desk was on my front porch today.
This lovely lady gave me the Best folder for uni!!
I also was lucky to find some really lovely books this week and some great fabric too.
I've been reading up on Reggio Emilia. A happy way for children to develop!!
Oh and a big thank you to Gillian for sending me "A Dogs Life".
Your right Gemma, it does sound like Peeep.

Mikes Sunday Supper....Peanut Butter Anzacs

Soooo....while we were making Anzacs on Thursday night, I was looking at the Peanut Butter Jar and thought "What about Peanut Butter Anzacs".
Maybe these have been done before?
I'm not too sure?! So correct me if I haven't come up with the best tasting Biscuits I've eaten in my life, to date!!

Peanut Butter Anzacs

3/4 Cup Rolled Oats
1/2 Cup Sugar
3/4 Cup Plain Flour
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
2 tablespoons of boiling water
1/2 cups butter, melted
1 and a half tablespoons of Peanut Butter, Melted

1. Set Oven at 160 degrees celius
2. Mix Oats, Sugar and Flour
3. Mix Golden Syrup, soda and boiling water.
While frothing, add melted Butter and Peanut Butter then pour into dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
4. Drop spoonfuls of mixture onto tray allowing room for mixture to spread.
5. Bake at 160 until they are golden

Enjoy my friends.
Oh and so you know, I like my Anzacs chewy!

How old? 10 and a half-ish
Where do they sleep? on the people bed when possible, in the sun anywhere, otherwise in the cat bed - in that order
What is his or her breed? Crazy bitch!
Any special tricks/talent? playing nicely with small children (although she's less of a fan now she's a senior citizen), beating up yappy small dogs - seriously, she owns the street.
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? A mobster, cranky old biddy or possibely a dictator

Your Pet...by Luce

Whats your pets name/names? His name is Maximus the Great but we call him Max or Maxie
How old? He is 14 years old
Where do they sleep? On a pillow and blanket next to my bed
What is his or her breed? He is a pure-bred Cocker Spaniel
Any special tricks/talent? He can sleep an entire day and still be tired. Oh at 14 years old he learned to use a doggy door when my dad put it it! You can teach an old dog new tricks!! Plus he can sit, shake hands, roll over
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? A sloth....because they sleep a lot or actually a human because he eats human food and wants to chill with humans not other animals....especially not moca the excitable sausage dog.

Luce is right, Moca and Maxie have a love hate relationship. Moca knows that max isn't all that fast, can't hear and can't see, so he sneaks up behind him and nibbles at his legs to play. I think that deep down Max enjoys it a lot. His tail never stops wagging!!

Where do they sleep? On his belvoed hedgehog beanbag or anywhere in the sun - Ah the life of a puss

What is his or her breed? Grey and cute, distantly related to the Whiskas cat I am sure
Any special tricks/talent? He talks to my husband who claims to be the "Cat Whisperer". He has different sounds for cuddles, food, I'm too cold, let me in, etc.
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? He is a sweet tolerant thing, so maybe a sweet old bear in the woods that would ask the bees for directions to the best berrys.

Whats your pets name/names? Pocoyo Puss, Pockie

How old? Just under 1 year
Where do they sleep? The sink, On the wicker chair in the sun, or under the bed in the base.
What is his or her breed? Birman cross
Any special tricks/talent? The people that had her prior to us got her at 5 weeks of age, so she is a bit socially neurotic. She also has a beautiful squirrel tail, that if you pat she will eat you alive.
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? I think a shark, she loves water, sits in the shower or the sink and she also attacks anything that moves.

Your Pet...by Elaine

Whats your pets name/names? Lola, cattikens, catface, puss-can and more recently fatbum as we have been cat-sitting and she eats all the leftovers and is getting fat.
How old? about 2 1/2. She found me at Lort Smith. Her first HORRIBLE family threw her out on the streets when she was a pregnant kitten. She had just weaned the kittens when she came to me and the vet said she was about one. She has a sweet nature and likes to chatter and chirp away to herself, occasionally asking your opinion.
Where do they sleep? On my bed at night and in the afternoons. In the evening after dinner, she goes down stairs to my sewing room and has a nap on my chair or in the middle of the papasan.
What is his or her breed? Domestic Short Hair/dag
Any special tricks/talent? Getting into any bag or basket that contains an unopened ball of wool and "quality testing", helping out with my sewing, catching and chasing around the toy mouse, checking to see that my eyeballs are still there at 6.45a.m.
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? a golden retriever. She likes playing catch, comes to the door to say hello and likes to hang out with her people.

Any special tricks/talent? Having kittens then hating them once they're big. (she's "fixed" now) Becoming strangely in love with any of the men in the household. Being extra puffy. Frowning.

Whats your pets name/names? Poncho, Ponch, Ponchey Bella, Kitty,
How old? 7
Where do they sleep? Behind the T.V cabinet, In the Spa and at the bottom of the stairs.
What is his or her breed? Not too sure...maybe crossed with a Yeti!
Any special tricks/talent? He plays chasey with Moca when he visits. He goes for walks with the dogs. He will have a shower with you. If he is not let out when HE wants to go out, he will go to the bathroom and paw the toilet paper roll until there is one giant heap of what used to be a toilet roll, on the bathroom floor.
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? A Royal, A Model or maybe a pool cleaner.

Your Pet...by Evie

Whats your pets name/names? Millie, Mill, Millicent, Moosey, Moosey Moo, Moo Moo, Millie the Moose, Moosabi, Poppet, Chicken...and she probably has an identity crisis, poor thing!!
How old? 20 months
Where do they sleep? Anywhere warm or where the sun is, in bed, on the window sill, in front of the heater, under the couch, on a warm lap, inside her cat tunnel...so much sleeping - what a life!
What is his or her breed? Short Haired Burmilla
Any special tricks/talent? Classic Catches...jumping at great heights to catch something in her two front paws. She is also a great helper when hanging out the washing and making the bed...i think this is one of her favourite things! At times Millie thinks she is human and will only drink out of human drinking cups and not a cat dish, I dont know if this is really a talent or a trick but I think she does. She is also pretty good at striking a pose when the camera comes out!
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? Perhaps a cricketer with all her Classic Catching skills, she is pretty good at fetch too!! Or a very cheeky Meerkat.

Where do they sleep? on his pet futon with a blanket and his stuffed rabbit "chewy" {this week have found him twice lazing on the sofa...}

What is his or her breed? Border Collie x Kelpie

Any special tricks/talent? He talks with a very deep and manly voice;) he also 'rounds up' the kids in my class at fruit time and playtime

What do you think your pet was in a previous life? He was a hot water bottle- and still is when my toes are icy he knows to come and lie on them;)

Oh Rasta you should like one very happy dog. Going to class and chasing kids! Thats what I do too!!

How old? Nine years old on August 20th... hardly any gray whiskie's yet
Where do they sleep?  She sometimes gets to sleep in bed if she has peed and poohed... otherwise in her crate in case she has an accident overnight.  Being paralyzed she does not have control of her bladder you know.
What is his or her breed?  Dachshund, wiener dog, doxie
Any special tricks/talent?  Her talent is spreading love and her positive message about disabled animals through her book called, Frankie, the Walk 'N Roll Dog.  Also she is very talented at being the train conductor of her very own train as her phtot shows
What do you think your pet was in a previous life?  A big dog or an ardvark, or perhaps an elephant

How old? I don't know but I know I love her!
Where do they sleep? She sleeps half the night down by my feet in bed until she gets bored then half the night outside.
What is his or her breed? I don't know that either! - she was adopted you see...
Any special tricks/talent? YES! Audrey likes to collect bright pink camelia flowers and leaves them at our door. One day I counted 15 camelias.
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? An Indian Princess or a florist.

I've been lucky enough to meet Audrey and receive one of her Pink Camelias TOO.

How old? about 3
Where do they sleep? On my bed, on the heater, on my amp, on my lap, everything that is warm.
What is his or her breed? Silver Tabby
Any special tricks/talent? Sitting on you at exactly the wrong moment, when you've just realised you need to get up to get/do something, need to go to the toilet, looking extremely pretty and sweet to hide the fact that she is really the devil,
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? I think she would say or like me to say fierce tiger hunting in the jungle who is extremely fierce and athletic, but I would say a cat again in the Egyptian times, or a musician or something some musical as she really loves music.

Whats your pets name/names? His name is Charlie Brown, However he also goes by Charlie, Chuck, Chuckie & for some now forgotten reason ... Chicken.
How old? He is 7 - turning 8 on December 16
Where do they sleep? He sleeps in various spots depending on his mood, the temperature & time of day. He loves to have quick naps by the pool in the sun (he lives on the gold coast) he also loves to sleep on an ottoman in the front room of the house as he can keep an eye on the kitchen, the study, the lounge room, the garden, the street & the front door all at the same time. At night he bunks down on a mix of the bed (up top close to you if its cold or he is feeling particularly cuddly) and on his cushy bed and boomerang pillow.
What is his or her breed? He is a mini/medium poodle- but not a puffed up poodle- he has a cool mustache...
Any special tricks/talent? Many, he likes to swim laps in the pool, the ability to extradite the sole pea or carrot from a meal and leave it behind & my favourite is his ability to communicate what he wants through his facial expressions- it may sound crazy - but it's like he talks to you. He is also very good at playing hide and seek. Either with one of his various toys or with someone at the park. Oh he also has an amazing ability to tell time. hehe- like breakfast time, dinner time, go to the park time etc.....
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? Some one who was probably very very happy and kind and friendly. As Charlie really is a happy sweet dog. He has never been heard to growl. He is always happy to see people and meet new people. He is patient & playful with puppies, children even annoying yappy bossy dogs. He's just friendly even if he is feeling sick or has hurt him self. He is very smart too. So i think he must have been a generous happy smartypants. hehe- or else the opposite & he is making up for it in his new life.

Whats your pets name/names? His real name is Claude, named after my favourite composer Claude Debussy. Often gets His Royal Highness, Claude de-pussy, Claudius Maximus or teradctyl!
How old? Claude celebrated his 14th birthday on Sunday. But he thinks he is a spritely energetic kitten!
Where do they sleep? On my pillow wrapped in my arms, my head on his purring belly
What is his or her breed? British Shorthair
Any special tricks/talent? No particular special tricks or talents - lots of interesting loves to do though! Loves drinking running water from the tap, loves to sniff your forehead - especially when he meets someone for the first time and loves vegemite on toast or vita-weat biscuits.
What do you think your pet was in a previous life? I think he was a king as he is very regal and acts as if he owns everything, we are merely his servants. Or he may have been a very glamourous movie star eg Carey Grant

Whats your pets name/names? Cuby aka Chewy Bluey aka Roo Boy aka Major Mow-a-lot

How old? Well - 5 human years. I don't know technically what that is in "cat years" but he acts like an adolescent - perhaps 15?

Where do they sleep? On my bed with me! Either at my feet or perched precariously on my hip.

What is his or her breed? Russian Blue (super soft fur and loving nature)

Any special tricks/talent? He is very very good at jumping. He can jump into my arms when I click my fingers (and he is in the mood) and he can do this mammoth jump from the bookshelf to the top of the window which must be 2 metres.

What do you think your pet was in a previous life? Maybe a chicken farmer who liked sleeping under his apple tree when he should be working. Occasionally borrowing cook books from the library. Brewing his own cider in his sparetime.
