something to share

Just wanted to show you something that I had a lot of fun designing and making this week.
Snakes and Ladders. Everything except for the calico was recycled to make this. It made me think of this crafty lady while I was piecing it together.
Hope everyone is well.

Red head....

It's International Red Head Day!! Great way to start the week with a celebration!!!
I'm undecided on how to celebrate? Do I run through the park across from work naked? Do I do an Irish Jig (while naked)? Do I go and purchase something Red?
Happy day to all!!

little bits can make something nice

12 squares given to me by pippy for my birthday was the inspiration for this pillowcase.
Also added in is some fabric from Flashback in Northcote and also some fabric from my knitting friend Angela.
Slowly little bits of me are creeping into the room. The boy who I share the bed with told me that "it isn't going unnoticed either". He has also claimed the pillowcase to be his. If thats one way of it staying them I'm a ok that!!!

a place to call my own

I've dusted off the keyboard, i've tried to find the missing "N" key to my keyboard, but alas I realised that I much prefer it's soft squishy bump that was hiding underneath.
I'm listening to Micheal Jackson like most of the world i'm guessing. My favourite songs "Got to be starting something" also "The way you make me feel". Purely for the line "your just the product of loveliness"!! That line warms me. I'm drinking CH'I and I just put my gumboots on to keep me warmer. I'm thinking about my favourrite colour and wishing that is was shining on me.
I'm also looking at a Yellow sausage dog pen that Angela found for me. Wondering if someone would come home soon and flip the record for me.
I'm thinking about all of this in a little place that I have created to call my own. It's amazing when sharing a house how you crave certain things to keep you sane. I realised that I needed a place that my sewing machine could stay and never be packed away. A place that I can sit to start posting blogs, to pin up stuff that inspires me and reminds me of nice memories.
It's been far to long if you ask me.

things i have seen

I made these for mum, for her day. What an aussie mum uses when she can't find a vase!! I'm still laughing.

This trees beauty caught my eye when leaving the house today.

Below are images from the Farmers Market at the Collingwood Children's Farm.

And this is a picture of me. Draw by a 4 year old.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MUM.

what the sun brings

Two weeks ago I went to the Nursery. One week ago I planted the bulbs. One week later and the shoots have appeared.

Today I was flicking through Pippy's book and made some flowers.
And when I had a little outing with Angela I found this heart.
So yes, thats what I've been up to.
Whats news with you??

little peanuts quilt

Link
This is my first ever babies quilt. I'm really really proud at my persistence and having a crackness. With some guidance from the Meet Me at Mikes Book, Super great book, it really is,
I had such a fun time mixing and matching and puzzle piecing this present together.
Most of the fun, was bring to live the drawing from the children at work. Also I have to thank one little child for the beautiful writing of " Happy Sunshine".
So Ilana I wish you, peanut and the rest of your family, the happiest of adventures!!
