Housemate Competition Update.

Thank you to everyone for entering so far. I didn't realise it had been two weeks already! Thanks Lou Lou.

I've been tagged....

I was just wondering this morning how long it would take until I was tagged!!
I was tagged by this lovely lady.
I'm sure everyone knows the rules but it tells me to put them in.

First the rules:
A. Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves.
B. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog....so off we go!

1. My favourite show is Mcleods Daughters.
I always wanted to live on a farm and being a farmer riding horses and looking after all of the animals would make my days happy! Getting my weekly fix of Mcleods lets me live in this dream until my widow hobby farm pact with piri comes around.

2. I received the Principles Award in grade 6. I asked mum if this was because I said hello to the Lollypop Lady every morning!

3. If i see babies when i'm tired i will cry.

4. My 2nd cousin is Delta Goodrem.

5. I like winter more than summer.

6. I won a singing contest at the Blairgowire Fair when I was 8. My prize was a bart simpson t-shirt that said "my mouths a temple man". I only liked it because my brother wanted it.

7. Everyday I wear little spoon earings that my lovely friend gave to me for my birthday

8. I've had 5dogs, 6cats, 1 cockatoo, 1 cockateil, 3 rabbits, 1 chicken, 4 mice, 4 hermert crabs, 2 canaries and lots of fish as pets.

Flashback Friday - Weddings

Me and my brother in 1987 and again in 1993.
I've always felt that you were lucky to be a flower girl.
Maybe lucky for having to have your hair in rollers for three days so you fitted the ideal image for the bride!
Or being told that if you didn't behave that the other Brooke (who i didn't like for many reason. First me having to write Brooke S on all of my work in primary school so the teachers knew which Brookes work they were marking. Second she was the Brooke everyone wanted to be friends with too, so I felt I had one up on her if I got the job.)
I always felt like a little princess and mum said if she lost me that she would always find me on the stage with the band members doing my best Tambourine playing.

Dog in the City

Moca Luce and I had a lovely Wednesday.
We had breaky at french cafe Moi.
Drove into the city then walked to the Genki Caravan.
Moca wanted to say hi to Dolly, Luce wanted to meet Dolly and I wanted to say goodbye to Dolly.
Such happiness surrounds you on a sun filled day.
I booked into get my Cards read and was amazed at the results. (go and get it done)
We meet a lot of lovely people!
Moca received a lot of attention and was happy to take it.
Photographers in front of the Genki Caravan, a group of giggling school girls. Moca was even asked if he could be used in a Uni film clip!!
Lots of "look its a sausage dog" filled the air and I always find it hard not to laugh when people laugh at him.
I embraced this Wednesday and some how filled every minute with something that made me smile.
As Peggy Lee would sing "it's a good day for singing a song, it's a good day for moving along, yes it's a good day how could anything we wrong, it's a good day for morning till night"
This song sums up my day!

Late night thrifting...

Ok...so I think I was a little naughty. I just popped down the street and past the clothing bins and what was I to find but this.






















It was popping open and inside I found a floral table cloth and a back scratcher. The back scratcher is wee creepy. It's a miniature resin hand. Moca seems to think it does the job just right.
This is probably the only bonus of where I live. The people don't see the value in a beautiful green suitcase with shining silver buckles and contents inside. I think this is going to be a great week!!

I'm sending a huge hug and a kiss to my beautiful friend in W.A. After 5 years of dedication, stress, tears and study Piri will be a Vet at the end of the year. Well done on getting your preferred placement today Piri!! Moca and I are so happy for you! Your now Mocas Vet!

we could date!

Woo...I finally feel that I could after making these tonight.
Banana and Date Scones!
My favourite date scones come from bakers delight. Mum and I can't go past without buying more than one each! I now feel that I could possibly put bakers delight out of business!! Modest I know, but I finally made the chemistry work!

The Australian Ballet...

Amazing, Warming, Emotional, Physical, Colourful, Lucky and Inspiring.
My first experience at the Ballet was more than i thought possible. I could see the musicians expressions and music notes. I could hear the ballet dancer say 'shit' when she nearly fell over.
I had tears of joy and emotion in my eyes at the beauty of it all.
Then the harp played and i couldn't feel more greatfull to my lovely friend Bella for allowing me it all.
This is an art that you have to experience at least once in life.

Mary Kilvert

I think her work is beautiful.
The colours used, mix mediums and characters depicted makes me smile and happy when i look at her work.
Better still both Mary and I share a love for sausage dogs. This resulting in my first sausage dog brooch called Maisie heading over seas in a swap for this print.

At the last stitching night i embroidered this onto a tea towel.

Flashback Friday -Music

This is me at 15months. I'm lucky that my mum has written the age on the back of every photo that she taken since i was born.
All of my photo albums are back home, so i had to look though the bunch i took the last time i was home. If you look really close i think i have some music making toys in there. If not then i'm sure i used them to get mums attention when i wanted to get out.

Stitching Night

I really like stitching night!
I like that everyone is so friendly and helpful to each other and that I never have an empty cup. I think it helps when your in charge of top ups and when Holly Hobbie is on your cup too!

Last night I started the tea towel for the Housemate Competition.
I received the most delightful gifts from Kirsty and Pei Pei.
Thank you both so much for your kindness.
Pei Pei Moca is being loving to his new family members. They are still on supervised playtimes but hopefully i can trust them all together soon.
Kirsty I can't wait to 'light my fire' and sew! I'm sorry that i used up nearly all of your brand new clover pencil.
Rin thanks for the closed eye fringe dancing.
Pip thank you for provided us a lovely space to chat, share ideas and eat the best cupcakes around! Oh and tell Mike the first sign of love is hate!

Beachy Wednesday

I grew up at the beach. In a little township called Blairgowire. I'm a beach girl.
I love having salty hair and skin and freckles to match!
So with the weather being so fine today, Moca and I heading to our local leash free Dog Beach.
We managed to bump into another Sausage dog, paddle in the water, get sandy paws and feet and get a lot of Vitamin D. The op shops provided me with an afternoon treat. A new dress and a pillow case.
I LOVE Wednesday!!
