Possum Magic is my favourtie book.
I remember sitting cross legged in front of Mr Satori 18years ago and listening to this book for the very first time.
So very Australian.
Full of Lamingtons and Pavlova and Vegemite Sandwiches.
I love how nostalgic I feel when thinking about it. Almost a little teary.
I think I need to buy a copy to love once again!

ah yes one of my favs too. now i read it to my niece who loves it as much as i did (and do).
Do you know I am very envious of a friend of mine (who has recently started on a quest to do illustration), who, through mutual friends, has met up with the illustrator of Possum Magic a few times now. You know, just discussing life as an illustrator over a cup of coffee at a cafe in Balmain... sooooo envious!

Oh that is a beauty! The illustrations,the rhythm of the story and the characters - so much makes it so special. Mem Fox knows how to use words to make magic.
That is a lovely book...one totally unknown to me but one I will be sure to get for either me or the grandchicks should I ever get to the land down under.

We love Possum Magic so much, especially now that we are out of Australia. It would have to be read at least once a week round here.
