Flashback Friday - Me and my pet

My all time favourite and standout Pet, Brandon.

I loved how he walked down the same track beside the road everyday. Over time he made his own little track. He would run ahead of you when walking to the beach but always run back to see where you were.
He was friendly to all the neighbours, had the happiest tail in Blairgowire and made for many happy memories as a child.
This is where my love started for Sausage dogs after all!

My current Sausage Dog love Moca.
Happy Flashback Friday!!

Snappy Salty Sunny Smiling

Sorry for the picture overload. So much snapping has happen.
I've just come home from hanging out at the beach for the past few days.
Drinking Soy Vanilla Chai Lattes with Honey at Blairgowrie Cafe. Well worth the stop if you ever head down. Ask for Kristy to make it. She knows her stuff!!

I managed to get some new photos to add to my Flashback Friday folio too.

I made mum a pillow. It was the Sausage dog embroidery that I completed at the last craft night. I teamed it off with Sausage Dog ribbon thanks to Angela's crafty eyes!

Yesterday made for lots of rain and a spot of op shopping. I also started on my lovely friends "Welcome to your new shop" present that I just couldn't keep a secret to her any longer. Sorry lovely friend.
And today I woke with the birds and the sunrise and when I came home this evening a letter from Jordyn made my heart warmer.

And the Winner is.....

Angela from three buttons.

This is Angela's housemate story....
"I shared an old Malvern mansion with Miss Carolyn Rundell, she was a bohemian artist with an amazing studio. We loved to spend time chatting in the kitchen drinking earl grey tea and she could make a mean soup.

Once on christmas day when she went off to visit her family in the country she left me a note to say your hamper is in the fridge. She put together a lovely basket of ham, salads and christmas pudding! Because I live so far away from my family she made my christmas day that year very special. Carolyn was my best housemate!"

Oh Miss Carolyn Rundell what a delight you were!! This is what Angela wins:

Thank you to everyone for entering!!

We saved a Raven

I found a little baby Raven in the car park after work today. He had the brightest blue eyes and little baby feathers under his wings. He just looked up at me and croaked. He had the sweetest little croak I have ever heard. It kinda sounded like a duck.
I didn't know what to do but i knew that I couldn't leave him there to be hurt. I mean what are the chance of a bird sitting near the car door that you are about to get into.

So Little bird Raven and I walked up to Mikes for help.

Pip rang lots of places and we finally came across a lovely lady called Jan who works as a volunteer for Wildlife Victoria.
Little bird Raven was very sick. Even thow he was jumping around and croaking when he was with me. Jan said Little bird Raven was very thin and that she was going to feed him up and put a heat lamp on him and hopefully he would be ok. I'm going to call back on Monday and see how he is.

Thank you for helping Pippy!!

Hot Dogs!!

Thanks to My Poppet and Erin for telling me about this.

"The US city Cincinnati celebrates Oktoberfest every year, but this weekend the Bavarian-inspired festival, modelled after the original in Germany, will kick off with a new event.

Organisers have announced the inaugural "Running of the Wieners," a 50-foot race open to the first 50 dachshunds willing to be outfitted in hot-dog bun costumes for a chance to be declared the canine champion.

Dachshunds, commonly known as "wiener dogs" because of their shape, were considered a natural choice for the 32nd annual celebration of Cincinnati's German heritage."

This is Mocas brother Snags and Mocas bum.
We entered them into Jack Russel races at a Garden and Pet Expo. Gosh it was a laugh! We had to put them in starting cages and Moca got stuck trying to turn around. Then when the doors lifted they just stood there wondering what was happening. Needless to say they created quite a laugh and once they reached the end they received matching pink ribbons for trying .

Flashback Friday - What mum did to my hair!!

From the age of 3 until i was 11, mum crimped my hair!
It started off with my fringe then it made its way to what I called "puppy dogs tails" (the bits of hair that fall in front of your ears), then it pretty much spread to every strand of hair I sprout!!
BAM the next thing I know, my hair takes mum 30mins to do and the smell of burning hair is a everyday achievement!!
I don't know why she loved it so much, i guess the photo says it all!

Fiona is suggesting next weeks theme.

Wednesday weakness...

Brrr its cold outside. So I decided to make myself warm on the inside.

Banana Muffins are YUM!!!
what you will need:

2 1/2 cups of self raising flour
3/4 of a cup of brown sugar
2eggs
50g of crushed walnuts
60 oz of butter (melted)
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
4 mashed bananas (the browner the better)

This recipe is fool proof. Put it all in a bowl and mix! If it's a little think add a touch of milk.
It makes 12 cupcake size muffins.
Pre-heat your oven at 180 wack it in for 30mins and your done!!
I like to top it off with cream cheese and walnut icing.

I'm a bit bananas at the moment. I just can't get enough of them.
Jess even sent me a recipe for Banana Jam!!

Enjoy

Thrifted Tuesday

Moca is to blame for the lack of blogging lately. He pushed Disco (my silver laptop) off the bed last Thursday. It landed on the floor with a thump and I now have to position the internet cord at a finger numbing 75 degree angle for it to work. Grrrr Moca....if only you weren't so cute then maybe I could stay angry at you and not let you sleep on my bed for a week!!

It's all blue sky's here today. I've spent the day gardening, singing, relaxing and worrying about my job. So i headed to the oppy as a little treat to myself and i found these.

The dress cost me $2 and the pillow cases $2. I also purchased a cupcake tin for 70c.
Such simple pleasures.

Only 5days left in the Housemate competition! So be quick and enter here.

Umm i do wonder...who started Thrifted Tuesdays?

Flashback Friday Theme!

Oh such an honer to have this task.
At a recent opening Angela and I got chatting and decided that 'what my mum did to my hair' would be a great theme for this weeks Flashback Friday. I have many memories. One being the smell of burning hair, but it's not friday so you'll have to wait.

Hope your weekends super!!

I can't thank this person enough for what happen to me this afternoon.
Two big packages lay in the entrance when I arrived home.
Top one for my housemate Sarah and bottom one address to ME!
I ripped it open and inside was DOLLY.

This letter was inside and has made me even more greatfull to the people that surround me.

I wish I could find your quilt for you!!
Loveliness is still alive and no one will ever change my mind.
